Bishop Peak Advisors helps its clients bring context to their buy or sell decisions by developing an M&A game plan and executing transactions as part of a broader strategic process.
For buyers, this often involves M&A readiness. Does the company have the internal resources necessary to execute a given transaction? Are key executives bombarded with banker inbounds or distracted by target fishing expeditions versus actual M&A processes? For sellers, do valuation expectations match current market conditions? Does the business have the team maturity and infrastructure necessary to navigate an extended due diligence period? External context matters as well. Are competitors likely to vie for a given target? Does a potential suitor have the capacity (capital and will) to actually consummate a transaction.
We provide strategic consulting, M&A advisory, and interim executive services across the entire M&A cycle. We like to arrive early and are able to stay late—treating the deal itself as a milestone, not a destination.
Our pre-transaction services emphasize M&A strategy and target/suitor engagement. We encourage our clients to put all M&A decisions with a broader process umbrella (see sample below). While we certainly emphasize success on a given transaction (which in the case of sellers is "the" transaction), our main focus is pinpointing the "why" of M&A and ensuring the corresponding "what" and "how" is optimized. We seek to take the confusion out of the M&A process to expand buyer and seller strategic options. If today's M&A context is suboptimal, we'll advise steps to improve buyer or seller positioning and strategy with the goal of superior context down the road.

As former corporate insiders—with experience in corporate development and executive leadership, in particular—Bishop Peak Advisors seeks to build lasting client relationships throughout the M&A process. We leverage a number of proprietary best practice frameworks designed to adapt to our clients' needs and to capture lessons learned on each and every transaction. While we have extensive negotiation, due diligence, and valuation experience, it is quite likely that we will be working in conjunction with other outside advisors, including investment bankers and M&A counsel. We have worked closely with leading boutique and bulge bracket investment banks, M&A law firms, and related transactions specialists, and we will provide introductions where appropriate.

We can work with you and your team to develop deal processes and ramp up internal M&A capabilities.
